Challenge the community

On a day when 16 year olds in Scotland will be voting to go their own way, we will meet our MP.  This could form the first part of the Community Challenge badge is to find out how an aspect of our community works.
Daniel Kawczynski is holding a public meeting on Thursday 18 September 7pm-9pm in the Callow Room, Minsterley Hall, Minsterley. We will go along to this as our Unit meeting this week - nice of him to hold it on a Thursday for us!) and ask him about what he is doing to support the things that matter to us in our community (wherever we define the borders of our community!).
I am expecting you to take an active part: some of you will be voting for or against him next year! Find out if you would like him to be your voice in our parliament! Let him know what matters to us!
Things we might ask him about might include:
What is happening to Youth Services in Shropshire?
Will we be paying for extra funding for Scotland if they vote to stay?
Why are 16 year old Scots considered responsible enough to vote when 16 year old Englishmen and women aren't?
What is the point of a democracy when unelected officials in Europe write our laws?
How much notice can an MP take of individuals in a constituency of 77000?
How fair is it for students to have to take on debt of £30000-£50000 before they can start their careers and isn't this contributing to the loss of social mobility?
...

What matters to you?

Phil can help with transport for a few of you and I can take a couple too, but it is not much further than puggletown so hope to see you there! Give us a call if you need help with transport. Wear identifiable quantities of uniform (Orange hoodie/necker/...)
