DofE

Here's the Bronze expedition consent form... a rather sparse posting as I don't need to do an activity programme or kit list etc - you do all that yourselves! (hurrah!)

Explorer proof!

The BERP is back - and has been fitted with shiney new chain tensioners to make sure that the explorers won't need quite so many pit stops! And he has a new little brother - the WAVE (well he nearly has and will have by the pedalcar champs says Pete (somewhat nervously...).

We had a great time last year with the scouts and stormed through the lower division, so now it's time to defend our trophies and show we are still the best!

It is in just over a week, and Pete needs to plan everything NOW! so I've put an eventbrite thingy and a consent form here - check kit list and other info about the outdoor show we'll visit over on the scout blog

Sell Tickets Online through Eventbrite

Note the ticket is free, but the small print says you still need to pay Pete for the camp - see the form above! :)

Squad selection

It's time to have a go to get in the squad! Boreatton->;Shropshire->;National Squad->;GB Juniors... a few small (but very precise) steps to olympic glory!
We have to run this in two half troop sessions so book in to one of these and don't forget the legally required consent form!

Incidental eggs

Pooh!
Raw eggs!
Here's the info for the incident hike this w/e! I'll bring our tents, and some of you have committed to bring yours! I will aim to be there early to get our Secret Agent Obstacle Honey Trap sorted out and see you there... Don't forget the consent form and the raw egg!

beginnings and endings

We run DofE alongside the prog and it sometimes needs smaller groups to do things. We have a group doing their expedition, some wanting to do a practice expedition, and some needing to complete the electronic bits to finalise their award (hurrah!)
This means I need to either clone myself and the hut, or split us up this week!
On Tuesday 18 June the group planning their expedition to Brow Farm will meet at Leaton Hall 8:00 to 9:30 to complete their plan
On Tuesday 18 June the group wanting to do a practice expedition will meet at Leaton Hall 8:00 to 9:30 to make some less examinable ad hoc plans so when things go wrong they realise that having a plan is a good thing (if they are like the earlier groups... but hey maybe they will plan their practice expedition!)
On Thursday 20 June the group that have completed everything and did their expedition along the Offa's Dyke Way but lost their eDoE IDs and evidence will come to Leaton Hall and try and get everything sorted out so they can get their award!
It's at my place as I have better wifi and mapping etc than the hut...

Another chance

...to get high!
Don't forget it's the SSGMG Climbing day on Sunday, and it's going to be nice and sunny! It's always a nice chilled day and we spend quite a lot of time hanging around (on a climbing or abseil rope of course!). What the kit list has missed off this time is:
...cool shades, hat that shades the back of the neck, suncream, picnic...
Let me know by Friday and we will probably make our own arrangements to get there (and grab the extra half hour of sleep!). As usual, SSGMG activities are free to Boreatton.
Bring a consent form!
