Mountain biking with scouts - in pursuit of the perfect hot choc!

UPDATE
Thanks to the parents who have volunteered, we have enough support to run this event.
Other parents are still welcome!

It's time to get cold, wet and tired in Llandegla Forest again, with the knowledge that the best Hot Chocolate in Wales is waiting your return...
This activity is suitable for ALL Scouts who have a bike with gears. We've taken the tiniest 10 year old girls around before so that can't be your excuse. Even if you don't have a bike we may be able to lend you one.

Some pictures from last year's trek. You can also find a couple of crazy videos Al took with a GoPro a few years ago on our You Tube Channel
https://www.youtube.com/user/boreatton/videos?shelf_id=1&sort=dd&view=0

Funnily we were talking about an infamous Boreatton Scout at Chess today, her name was Ella and she made her own You Tube Video back in 2009 of the mountain hikes. Better watch that too....

The plan is to meet at Coed Llandegla at 1pm and stay until 4:30pm. Parents are welcome to join or go for a walk on any of the walking routes. There are bikes to hire however we suggest that you bring your own as they are expensive and need to be prebooked. If there is any problem with bike transport, as long as you ask sooner rather than later, we can sort something out. Any bikes must be well maintained - bikes with flat tyres, stiff gears or faulty brakes aren't welcome and helmets MUST be worn.

Kit List
Cycle Helmet
Mountain Bike with gears
Water Bottle (full)
Sweets to keep you going
Money for Cafe? (open till 4pm)
Waterproofs
Gloves
Long sleeves and trousers
Trainers

Note: If your parents are bringing you it'll cost £4.50 for the car park.

scrabble game

Just testing out the feasibility for live online city-scrabble wide game... this was a basic version where we just keep uploading updated screenshots. Not very slick but it works!

For a bonus game you can play "match the word to the explorer" - an insight into your explorer's mind!
