Fat Thursday

This is a traditional feast day for Boreatton Explorers that falls on the last Thursday before Shrove Tuesday - an opportunity to practice DofE cooking and eat fat pancakes :)

You could also test drive your carnival outfits?

Boxophily

So, as you won't get a huge amount of sleep, we will have our sleep-in-a-box on Friday 15 February evening 9pm to 8am on Saturday (no meeting on Thursday!)

Bring overnight kit and mess kit and your completed sponsor form. 

We will meet at Leaton Hall Farm and sleep outside the barn (or inside it if its grim)

I have emailed everyone signed up for rocketry to come to Leaton (if they are available) to get things started on Sun 10 Feb. If you didn't sign up but want to come - just email or phone or message via the group chat...

Living for the (cardboard) city

We are planning to live off grid - well... more off civilisation or just off everything... for just one night to reflect on the plight of the homeless and find out about the work of 'The Ark' helping those who find themselves living below the safety net indefinitely. 

Please plan to seek some sponsorship so we can contribute, after we have a full English and go home!

This week we will make our dwellings, but cannot camp until I have sorted all the paperwork and leaders... next week we will have someone from the Ark come and talk to us and then have our camp!

Bring structural insulating cardboard to develop your dwelling, and duck tape, glue, struts, etc!
