Every year a party of Scouts spend a day in the Llanymynech nature reserve to coppice parts of the woods. This opens up hot-spots for rare butterflies to lounge around and do their funky fluttery thing. Llanymynech has a population of super-rare Fritillary butterflys - rarer than a £20 note in Phils wallet! So, important stuff then.
We also have a brilliant time using axes and saws, building a shelter, cooking on an open fire and drinking hot chocolate (or a pot of tea in Cabbage's case).
This year, Woodman Pete (Wills Dad) has been persuaded to let Explorers have a go at being proper outdoor woodsy folk on the 1st of March. If you liked Bickley Coppice you will love this!!!
Sorry but I need the form returned by Thursday the 26th of February, as much as anything to know how many sausages and baking spuds to bring (oh and also to make sure you have a seat in the minibus.)
Some of you may not be able to come to Explorers on Thursday the 26th February to drop off your permission forms because of the Options evening or a plague of boils. Let me know by phone, email or facebook that you are coming and you can bring the form on the Sunday (which means I will have enough sausages!).
Come along - you will have a brilliant day!!!
