Last days of summer...

We are nearly back! School/college is about to start again (so due for one last heatwave of the summer!) and so we will recovene too - a week late as is my wont!
First Sub-unit-thing meeting will be on Thurs 11 Sept at 8:05-9:35 at the hut.
Subs are £35 as usual (or £70 if you didn't pay last term!)

As is usual, there are a few things happening right at the beginning of term! The historic churches sponsored cycle ride is on the 13th Sept - there is info and a link to the sponsorship form on the scout blog here so book an Eventbrite ticket to let us know you are coming and download and fill up the sponsor sheet.

The SSGMB Caving and Gorge walking camp is on 19-21 Sept but the deadline to sign up is the 12 Sept so you need to let me know before our first meeting and complete the consent form to bring on the 11th! It will be £40 and is always great  fun and you will get the opportunity to get wet again (I know you all love it 'cos you all been pouring buckets of water over each other all summer!) Here's an Eventbrite to apply for a place with info and forms too - it's likely to get booked up... (I know - its on the scout blog too - Pete has just been so much more organised than me this month... :(  ) Pete and I will be going along to this one.

There's also the Bickley Coppice Backwoods camp 26-28 Sept - Phil has opened the scout's summer camp up to us too and again there are forms here - bargain! Only £15 (but you have to make your own Bivvy to sleep in and cook on wood so not equipment or fuel costs!)

Rifles camp is 17-19 Oct - the team has been selected (had to be done last term as it takes a lot of organising to squad a thousand scouts with guns!!!) Let me know if you were disappointed to have missed it and want to be considered for a reserve place in case anyone on the team can't make it... The cost is £60 so team members please bring your cheques - I've already paid most of the cost for the entry fees. I'll do camp forms soon... I'll organise training to start very soon splitting the team into novice and pro groups.

And ALSO... (so many camps - so little time between...) those that went to Russia have to come to the Network Russia AGM on 2 Nov - we'll tell them about it, have a free dinner (and a free lunch and a free breakfast I hope! and get presented certificates and generally tell each other how adventurous we are - why not plan something fun for the Sunday? Also please let me know if you swapped your last UK necker (I'll get you another) and if you missed out on the cool Network Russia badge (I'll get you one - do you want it in English or Russian?). There;s not really any cost for this so it will only cost what you organise for the Sunday! I'll do forms soon, but send me a facebook message to confirm your place.

Finally! We need to organise a prog so please nominate your prog planning sub committee members to come to my house a week early (Thurs 4 Sept) to plan a prog! Again - send me a Facebook message if you want to help, or I will start volunteering you!
