St George's Parade

The St Georges Day Parade will take place in Ellesmere at 2pm on Sunday 27th April.
You are all expected to attend in full uniform, that is shirt (with all your badges sewn on), ironed necker, woggle, blue scout trousers or grey / black school trousers, clean shoes. Jeans and trainers will not be acceptable. If you don't have uniform yet, come in cub uniform or smart clothes. Drum Corps, don't forget berets, white sticks etc. You will NOT be allowed to wear a coat unless the parade marshall says so. If it's cold we'll find somewhere to leave them...

After the parade and singsong there will be activities in Cremorne Park so you can leave from there at about 4-30pm.

We are lining up on Wharf Road but some parking is available in Tesco's car park where you can walk through.

Drum Corps should wear their Boreatton necker, and the rest of us should wear the district necker, or both (or at least one of them! Depending how much uniform you have lost!)

The County Scouts gave us £750 for our summer expedition, so I expect everyone, particularly those going to Mongolia, to be there and help make their event a success too. We ought to run an event for the after parade activities - any ideas? I'll see what you all have to say on our fb group!

Heavenly! (Head for the hills!)

It's time for the SBSMG to get going again - we always have a great time at these but this time I'm afraid I can't come (shooting competition with the county squad)
It'll still be great though! Let me know if you intend to go and I'll let Rich know.

Can't guarantee it'll be as good as the last hike though...

But probably warmer...
This was the last Long Mynd hike...

should've said...

We will have a meeting at the hut on Thursday 10 April ! It's a planning meeting as we will be playing on Sat (see post below)

We will get people signed up and started at organising their DofE stuff! We need group of 4-7 for DofE and you need to know your availability in the hols for a practice expedition!
If you are doing DofE with school you can still do a practice expedition with us (they are not very expensive in scouts - the last one cost £0 'cos I made you buy your own food!

Also, on a related theme, I would like those coming to Mongolia to register for their Explorer Belt Award
Check it out here and come with ideas and plans!
Finally, in neither oof these apply, we also need a prog planning sub-committee so come with lots of ideas for that too!

Busy busy! :)

Drum Corps......

Unfortunately Roger won't be able to make Drum Corps this Thursday  (April 10th) so it has been cancelled.

art for art's sake

We have final County Squad rifle practice at Aldersley in the afternoon, but this will be different! I've booked up a session at Rednall (next to the Karting for 9:45-13:00) but I need numbers to confirm things so putting an eventbrite thing here!

I'll buy the first 300 shots, but bring cash if you intend to be extravagant in your shooting!

Field testing - street wise!

The Mongolia Fundraisers have set up a town trail quiz to raise funds for our summer explorations - we will be selling entries from now on but we'd better make sure it works (and is fun!)

No - it's not this... this is just a map so you don't get lost!

Also - last time we were out on the town you were too scary and I nearly got arrested for fermenting riot and disorder! Please come looking less scary!
Scary - not good!
Not scary - good! Simples!

We will meet in the MARKET SQUARE at 8:05pm to give it a try! Whilst we are testing it, why not enter? You too could be a big cash prize winner!

We will finish in the market square at 9:35pm and see how far you can get. We will also be looking for sales reps to market the quiz - Ben will give us a briefing on what its all about!
On the night we will have mini prizes to encourage you and and maintain blood sugar levels.
Please bring a consent note with contact info for the night.

PS - don't forget the Bags-2-scouts bags to come to my place by this Sat! But please don't bring them to the square!
