Drum Corps at the Big Busk.........

Once again the Drum Corps are performing at the Big Busk in Shrewsbury.  There are 2 fixtures this Saturday - firstly at 1.20 on Pride Hill outside Waitrose, then 2.00 by the Darwin statue outside the library.  You need to be at the first location by 1.00,  Full uniform please and don't forget those shiny shoes!

Those of you who are drumming at the Corbett Cabaret - don't forget to be there at 6.50 in full Scout uniform and shiny school shoes.

Hello, my name is Phil, and I'm a Thespian........

Those of you who are going to Mongolia or the summer camp will need some Thespian skills to entertain your fellow HappyCampers!  This Thursday bring along a small musical instrument if you have one (and can make it squeak) and be prepared for lots of arty farty group hugs.

Breidden Hill or Rodneys Pillar - you choose.....

A date for your diary.  Saturday the 17th of May Boreatton Scout Group (that is Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers) will be doing a sponsored walk up Breidden Hill to Rodneys Pillar at the top.  It should be great weather and a lovely day out.


Keep the day free so we can raise some money for the group.  Further details to follow.

I was feelin bad about goin off to Mongolia and leavin half of you behind, but those nice explorer peeps at Bicton have let us share their camp again! It was a great camp in N Wales last year with them, and also sharing with Rae Valley who we were with in the Cairngorms so should be good.

We are climbing at the new (ish) Oswestry Climbing centre this Thursday 8:00-9:30 (Note the earlier start!). Also I will be falling off quite a lot so good job they have nice fat squishy red things all over!

Bring indoor shoes (or cash to hire climbing shoes) and grippy fingers! Also would help to let me know you are coming or not on the facebook conversation (I think I have you all on that...)

Invisible Graffiti

Our meeting this week is Tuesday March 11 

Hey - we promised to do an ultra-violet town trail tomorrow with Bicton, so we will meet at 7:30-9:30 at the market square in Shrewsbury and hike around town in search of chips! (you didn't do very well last Thurs so we need to improve our chip searching skills! ) and leaving an invisible trail for each other/Bicton to follow. Please confirm you are coming and let me know if there are any transport probs!

Valet Parking???

Sunday March the 16th, Walford College are holding their annual Lambing Day.  This is a lovely day out, and Boreatton have been allowed to hold a car wash to raise funds for the Group in return for us supervising the car parking.  We need volunteers to work either 10 till 12, or 12 till 2 to direct traffic on the car park and in return anyone helping can get their family car full of people into the  show for free!


A big proportion of the money raised is going towards the Mongolia expedition so those of you who are going please pull all the stops out to do this.


Please let Phil know which time slot you would like to do at Explorers this Thursday.  What a great way to have some fun and raise some money :)  (Parents are welcome to take part as well, as we need some grown ups to help with the car parking).

A hike.....at night Hooray!!!

Alan is doing meeting type things on Thursday night so we can't have the Mongolia Night.  Instead we will have a night hike - we will shuffle from PGL to Baschurch using our navigation skills.

Please come prepared - warm clothes, torch, drink, boots, you know what you need!

If you walk fast enough we should get to the cross road by Lloyds Chippy by 9.30, so please arrange to be collected from there. 

In Search of Snow (man) Sunday 9th March

Yeepee it's mountain group time again, on the hunt for snow, though some of us have probably seen enough during half term.
The official letter says the destination is 'somewhere in North Wales'
If you want to come contact Alan. We'll probably meet at the Enigma, Shotatton at 8.45 and be back about 6-30. Not sure if snowgirl Evie is coming though....
