Shaggy

NO! Shagai - the ancient Mongolian art of shooting sheep's ankles... We have promised to lead an activity at the Award Night next Wednesday, so you need to learn how to teach some Mongolian games. Come dressed for Mongolian wrestling and anklebone shooting (can't do archery and horse racing in Shire Hall!) I've got a flock's worth of shagai (really difficult to buy shagai on the internet outside Mongolia and it was a three week delivery wait and very expensive to buy from Ulaan Baatan's only online shop! The best options I could find were sheep ankle rustling (messy and the poor sheep would have to wriggle around like woolly slugs afterwards) or a Parisian ex-pat artisans collective!)

The recommended outfit is speedos, pretty calf boots and a blouson bare chested jacket...

oh - and a silly hat!     ...got that? Lets see how we get on with the look!

Drum Drum Drum Drum Drumming.........

Drum Corps - don't forget, no Drum Corps this Thursday (the 30th), but you get to perform on Wednesday the 5th of February at the Shirehall in Shrewsbury then hold a drumming workshop.

Please meet in the foyer at 6.10, in full uniform (plus school trousers and polished school shoes), and there will be nibbles and drinks available.  We are saying thank you for a very large grant so lets have a good turnout (and judging by last year there will be loads of fun stuff to do and see).

Lets rock their socks off.

Fire Fire Fire (and sausages!!!!)

Last week we did some soft and cuddly crafty type things.  This week we will set stuff on fire then eat sausages.  Ideal for a hungry pyromaniac then!  Ever lit a fire using a firebow?  Give it a try.  See you Thursday at 8.00

I am appealing!!

Oh yes I am!!
I am appealing for plastic storage boxes, ideally with lids, to keep kit in for our stores.  Big or not so big - we can use them all.

A prog!

Not so tidy as it might be, but equally more present than it might be!
As prepared by the programme planning sub-committee so feel free to suggest changes and expect that it will turn out to be flexible ...

Galleons for Hogwarts

Time to stump up the rest of the money for those going to Hogwarts St Briavels.  If you haven't booked a place you can still come as we have a couple of beds left!  The final total for the camp is £60 so if you have paid a £35 deposit that leaves errrm £25 :)

O.M.G.

Ordinary Meeting, Guys... - no that's not right that would be O.M.,G. ... Oh my goodness... Al's forgotten to get the blog up to date! Hey - new year's resolutions are rubbish anyway!
We begin a new term tomorrow! It's 'Back to Basics!' - it always is!
But more specifically, we plan to make ourselves more awesome! The plan is to design awesome hoodies so you can wear something that I can claim is uniform, without you all having to pretend you forgot it of a troop night - you do not have to get into the robo team or shrops rifle team - just being one of us is awesome enough! (or will be...). Personally - my vote goes for a 2 colour WW1 themed dazzle camo hoodie - it's the 100 year anniversary of the war to end all wars so maybe if we go for the iconic artistic expression of brutal death and destruction it will make our politicians think twice before contemplating anything similar ever again?

Bring ideas, music, DofE plans, just general start of term stuff...
I'll bring the rest of the prog...
Usual time, usual place, gate code 1066...

Gate Code

The code for the gate at PGL is 1066.  This will remain in use until guests start using the site again (probably Easter).

In search of bad weather...

They said it was going to be in search of snow but there's not much about! P'raps it will just be in search of bad weather! Still good! Good to do battle against the worst that Wales can throw at us, and win!
Phone me if you want to come! There'll be a big bunch of us going!
(should've gone to the Altai mountains if we were really wanting to search for snow!)
