when the chips are down...

OK - the plan is to go down town for our last meeting of term (originally I thought we'd be into spring and BST for the last meeting, and go Zorb, but winter decided to stick around a bit longer...)

We meet at the top of Pride Hill at the usual time (8:05pm) and I have a challenge for you with treasure at the end of it (for some of you). 


Bring extreme weather gear and a cameraphone!

Toxophily!

It's the season to bend the bow once more - we have only a couple of days to decide who wants to compete in the National Scout Archery competition! We had fun last year so tomorrow we will have a not to serious practice AT LEATON HALL archery range. Usual time, different place... We will shoot for Gold (chocolate coins) as its nearly Easter!

Big bang

Just a quick reminder that there will be no meeting this Thursday as all the leaders and some explorers will be at the Big Bang Show in London this week. BEASTly isn't it :)

Lurrvely pancakes!

The Americans are a bit out of step when it comes to pancake day... they do it a week early and call pancake day "Fat Tuesday" (emotive sizist language there! maybe "large boned Tuesday"?), but anyway, last year they moved it because it happened on Valentines day and the restaurant lobby were worried that cheapskate american boyfriends would shortchange their gfs by taking them out for a romantic pancake stack instead of a romantic meal out (and put  the cash they saved towards superbowl tickets or some such...) 

But hey! your getting it all wrong yanks! Pancakes are great! The girls love them!

We will prove the yanks wrong by cooking and dedicating lurvely romantic (ie pink) pancakes to our valentine heartthrobs etc. Dress to impress and woo the target of your cupids arrows (if they are also an explorer) and pledge your undying lurve with a special pancake inscribed with your loved one's name!
